Le moteur BOXER SUBARU de renommée mondiale

La Subaru Forester propose un choix de deux puissantes motorisations BOXER SUBARU de conception légère, à savoir un moteur atmosphérique de 2,5 litres à 4 cylindres et un moteur suralimenté à injection directe avec turbocompresseur à double entrée de 2,0 litres à 4 cylindres. Le premier fournit une manœuvrabilité incroyable, des accélérations étonnantes et un rendement énergétique exceptionnel. Ce moteur comprend aussi la technologie PZEV (véhicule à émissions quasi nulles), qui réduit presque complètement les émissions génératrices de smog sans nuire à l'accélération ou à la conduite. La boîte 6MT hautement réactive est jumelée à un différentiel central autobloquant à visco-coupleur, procurant une maniabilité presque neutre et une maîtrise optimale pour le conducteur. Cette transmission a également bénéficié d'améliorations de conception par rapport à la précédente génération afin de réduire la masse, de rehausser le rendement énergétique et de procurer des passages plus précis. Plus important encore, cette transmission permet de créer un lien plus sportif et direct entre le conducteur et le véhicule, entre le véhicule et la route.

Transmission à variation continue CVT Lineartronic®

La transmission CVT Lineartronic® de Subaru est couplée à un système AWD avec embrayage à disques multiples pour une maniabilité prévisible, et transfère automatiquement le couple à l'essieu arrière lors d'accélérations brusques ou en conditions de faible adhérence. Les palettes de changement de vitesses montées derrière le volant et le mode de passage manuel procurent au conducteur encore plus de contrôle (sur certains modèles).
